Addiction Services
The Trust currently provides community-based and inpatient addiction services.
Alcohol and drugs treatment and support is delivered in primary care settings, patients' homes and Trust facilities.
Treatment includes psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitative behaviour therapy; motivational therapy; counselling; methadone maintenance programmes; and detoxification programmes.

Southern Area Impact of Alcohol Portfolio Services
Alcohol & Domestic Violence Intervention Service
This service targets the victims of domestic/sexual violence abuse and alcohol abuse and who have or re-experiencing domestic/sexual violence and abuse which will be available to potential clients from across all of the Southern Trust area.
The service is delivered by 2 part-time Domestic Violence Workers and 2 part-time Children and Youth Workers provides and supports a flexible floating Outreach and Drop-In service based in Newry and Armagh to potential clients from across all of the Southern Trust area. Awareness Raising Sessions take place across the Southern Trust area alongside a specialised programme delivered to children and young people. Women's Aid promotes and delivers programmes for women which run continuously throughout the three years of the project and, in addition to these programmes, all of the women participating receive one-to-one support.

Counselling & Mentoring Service for People 18+ Years of age
Dunlewey Substance Advice Centre provides a flexible and responsive service tailored to individual needs and focused on recovery for people aged 18+ years of age who are experiencing problems in relation to alcohol. The service is available to potential clients from across all of the Southern Trust area and is delivered by two Counsellors/Mentors who offer mentoring, counselling, brief intervention, extended brief intervention, information, advice, support network information, harm reduction and advice on reducing alcohol.

Family Support Counselling Service
Relate NI providse a relationship counselling service which focuses on the impact of alcohol use and/or misuse on relationships within families, couples and individuals. The service promotes an understanding of current relationships, of their family of origin, previous experiences and behaviours whilst offering service users the opportunity to reflect on alternative approaches and develop their resilience. The service is available to potential clients from across all of the Southern Trust area.
It provides weekly family counselling sessions to families or individuals, each family or individual will receive a programme of counselling sessions in a venue close to their place of residence. The service also delivers, on an annual basis, three one-day workshops on Delivering Healthy Relationships. These workshops address communication and self esteem, conflict and assertiveness, stress and relationships, addiction and relationships, and maintaining healthy relationships.

Older Peoples Focus Service
Addiction N. I. targets Older People both male and female, and families of older people, to raise awareness of the issue of alcohol misuse among people aged 55+ years and to provide age-specific support services which will be available to potential clients from across all of the Southern Trust area.
The three main activities of the service are: counselling and support for older people with alcohol problems; a support service for families of older people with alcohol problems; and awareness raising and training for a wide range of audiences about the issue of alcohol and older people.

Harm Reduction Floating Support Service for Chronic Alcohol Users
De Paul Ireland specifically targets individuals who have a problem with chronic abuse of Alcohol and the immediate families of individuals who have a problem with chronic abuse of alcohol which will be available to potential clients from the Dungannon and South Tyrone, Armag, and Newry and Mourne District Council areas.
The service is delivered by two full-time workers who perform an outreach/floating support role while working on the needs of the individual. They support clients in identifying risky practices with a major focus on supporting them to understand their current alcohol habits and the impact this has upon their health, their relationships and the community.The service supports clients in reducing harm, accessing health care, maximising benefits, building relationships, recognising the impact of antisocial behaviour and identifying and pursuing personal aspirations.

Detached Outreach Youth Work Service
Breakthru targets young people who have found themselves detached from the current statutory provided youth support services - and parents - in the Dungannon and South Tyrone and Armagh Council areas.
The service targets and engages vulnerable at-risk young people, provides diversionary life-enhancing activities and provides learning opportunities in an attempt to break the cycle of alcohol misuse. It is delivered by a part-time worker who works directly with young people.
